Starting January 3rd, Guilford County will launch a new emergency notification system. The new system will allow citizens to opt-in to receive improved notifications via phone call, text messaging, and email based on locations you register for. Citizens can choose to receive notifications about events that may affect their home, workplace, family’s school and more. The new system will also provide citizens the opportunity to choose to receive Crime Alerts, Community Notifications, and Weather Alerts.

Citizens who have previously registered to receive notifications will need to register in the new system by January 3rd to continue to receive notifications. If citizens would like to continue to receive notifications they will need to click on the logo below to register.  After January 3rd citizens will no longer receive notifications if they have not registered for the new system. If a citizen needs assistance in registering they may contact Guilford County Emergency Management at (336) 641 – 2278.

The success of the service relies on residents’ participation. Those listed in the Yellow or White Pages will be automatically subscribed to alerts by phone, but Guilford Alert, Notification, and Information System (G.E.A.N.I.) also allows citizens to self-register and provide additional contact information. Residents are encouraged to register to begin receiving alerts.
