RALEIGH, N.C. – State and federal recovery officials announced the Greensboro disaster recovery center opened to support survivors of the April 15 tornado will end operations at 4:30 p.m. Monday,
June 11, 2018. Survivors may still register for disaster assistance online or via phone. The deadline to register is July 9, 2018.

Once the center closes, survivors who have registered with FEMA can still get answers to their questions and update their information by accessing their account online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the helpline at 800-621-3362. Applicants who use 711 or Video Relay Service may also call 800-621-3362. Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585. The toll-free numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. Multilingual operators are available.

Survivors should register even if they have insurance. FEMA cannot duplicate insurance payments, but underinsured applicants may receive help after their claims have been settled.
